As a Vintage Cellar Hand at VINPRO, you’ll play a hands-on role in crafting Central Otago wines during the busy harvest period. Working alongside our experienced winemaking team, you’ll be involved in all stages of the vintage process — from fruit receival and fermentation to pressing, barrel work, and cellar hygiene. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with premium fruit and learn from industry professionals in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with pre-harvest sampling, including bunch weights, pH, TA, and Brix.
• Support fruit receival by weighing and sampling fruit for analysis.
• Undertake cellar operations, such as cleaning, sanitation, pressing, and transfers.
• Contribute to winemaking activities, including additions, ferment monitoring, and barrel work.
• Carry out basic laboratory testing (pH, TA, Brix, FSO₂, malic acid, alcohol, and sugar).
• Maintain accurate records and documentation at all stages of the process.
• Follow all Health & Safety and PPE requirements in accordance with VINPRO policies.

What You’ll Bring
You’ll be energetic, hands-on, and passionate about wine. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a team are essential — especially under the pressure of harvest. Previous vintage or cellar experience is an advantage, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
